Living
Living after grief and trauma does not mean leaving the past behind.
It means learning how to carry what has happened while continuing to participate in life.
There may still be difficult days, triggers, memories, anniversaries, questions, anger, sadness, and moments of deep missing. These experiences do not automatically mean someone is going backward or failing.
- Grief and joy.
- Pain and purpose.
- Memory and new experiences.
- Missing and living.
- Struggle and strength.
Living means giving yourself permission to experience life as it is now — not according to someone else's expectations of where you “should” be.
